James Harr’s network experience dates back to high school working as a support technician for a small ISP providing dial-up and fixed wireless access. He studied Computer Science and Mathematics at the University of Nebraska at Omaha where he was involved in research computing and systems administration. After graduation he continued to work in the field of research computing, making his way back into network engineering for the University of Nebraska system where he became an engineering team lead for the Omaha campus and eventually a network and infrastructure architect for the University of Nebraska system. As of early 2020, James continues serving the Research & Education community through Internet2 as an engineer focusing on traffic analysis, network orchestration, systems engineering, and software development. Outside of work, James enjoys spending time at a local maker space, riding motorcycles both on and off-road, scuba diving, spending time with his family, and experimenting with forward looking technologies, such as IPv6.
