Speaker Bio
Lee Howard has over 30 years of experience in networking. A thought leader in Internet Protocols, he has served on the Internet Architecture Board (IAB), as a member of the ASO AC / NRO NC, and as a working-group co-chair of both the IPv6 Renumbering and IPv6 Operations working groups at the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF). Originally skeptical about an IPv4 address market, his analysis of the costs of network address translation (CGN), IPv4, and IPv6, provided perspective still relevant today. He has held technical leadership positions in large and small internet service providers, hosting, and enterprise IT, as founder of a company offering IPv4-IPv6 translation services, and as Senior Vice President at an IPv4 address broker until his retirement in August 2025. Lee first served on the ARIN Board of Trustees from 2002-2004, and again 2006-2010. He was elected to his current term in 2025. His term expires 31 December 2028.
