As ARIN continues its efforts to create an impactful and inclusive meeting, we are pleased to provide an ombudsperson during ARIN 54. This ombudsperson will be available for meeting participants and provide the following services:

  • Closely observe the ARIN 54 meeting and be available as a resource for any participant who believes they have observed, or have been subject to, a violation of the ARIN Participants Expected Standards of Behavior or offensive behavior or statements made by another participant.  If this occurs, the ombudsperson will address the situation both with that individual and potentially the alleged offending party to mediate or propose solutions aimed at preventing further issues.
  • Provide coaching to meeting participants, which may include how to address sensitive matters with another participant or community member during the meeting.  
  • Assist ARIN to create an inclusive and safe meeting environment.

ARIN 54 Ombudsperson

The ombudsperson for ARIN 54 is Mr. Wade Hinton, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Founder of Hinton & Company. Mr. Hinton is an attorney, entrepreneur, and nationally regarded expert on improving diversity and inclusion outcomes in the workplace. 

Mr. Hinton founded Hinton & Company, a business services firm with a focus on inclusion, diversity, and equity. Hinton & Company provides fractional Chief Diversity Officer services as well as bespoke leadership offerings to meet organizations where they are on their inclusion journey.

Mr. Hinton brings two decades of experience in the private and public sectors which includes service as the inaugural Vice-President of Inclusion and Diversity for the Unum Group, City Attorney for the City of Chattanooga, and Deputy General Counsel for Volkswagen Group of America Chattanooga Operations. Mr. Hinton is the founder of Board Connector and co-founder of Designation One — platforms connecting historically underrepresented talent to inclusive nonprofit boards.

Mr. Hinton is a native of Chattanooga, Tennessee, a graduate of Emory University, a graduate of The University of Memphis School of Law, and studied at Central European University in Budapest, Hungary.
