About the Policy Development Process
Policies are developed by the community in an open, transparent, and inclusive manner known as the Policy Development Process (PDP).
These community decisions are recorded in the Number Resource Policy Manual, which establishes the framework for how ARIN allocates Internet number resources to its region.
Every decision made throughout the PDP contributes to one outcome: ensuring ARIN's policies remain accurate, effective, technically sound, and responsive to the needs of the Internet community.
